Be default. It’s OK.

So a few days ago I went on a mini-twitter rant about how to answer “how are you feeling?”. I got to an answer. This won’t be a long post.

In fact just this: It’s perfectly normal: –

  1. Being lucid, composed in speech, without parallel quips of humor to disguise your insecurity about appearing or sounding loony.
  2. Satisfied with your station in life. Unencumbered by a burning and often crippling desire to start something new, race for the next “achievement”. It’s OK to just be.
  3. Taking time read the fine-print. The world isn’t waiting for you and you need not keep pace with it. It’s your life and it’s yours to spend your time as you see fit.
  4. Worrying about money you spent, but didn’t actually have. It’s been spent. Enjoy the things you bought, the experiences you’ve had and appreciate that you had the privileged to spend money at all. Next time will be easier saying no.
  5. Leaving people to fuck up on their own. No need to spiral into a blind (bipolar) rage where you can’t see the lighthouse from the shore (how the idiom goes I can’t recall – that’s OK too). It’s on them. You said your bit.
  6. Smiling and being pleasant to people. It’s who you are. You’re a pleasant person.

Treatment is working. You’re actually fine. Default is good enough. That’s it. That’s the post.

Late addition:

7. You’ll survive a dad bod. Seroquel wants you to eat everything including the actual cupboard. Be kind to yourself – dad bods are cool (keep telling yourself that until you believe it).
